Johannes Vermeer

Johannes Vermeer (1632-1675) was a Dutch Baroque-era painter who lived in the 17th century. He is known for his highly realistic and detailed depictions of domestic scenes and interiors, often featuring middle-class women and children as his subjects.

Some of his most famous works include "Girl with a Pearl Earring," "The Music Lesson," and "View of Delft." Vermeers work was highly influential in the development of Dutch painting, and he is considered one of the greatest Dutch painters of all time. Despite his immense talent, Vermeers paintings were not widely known or appreciated during his lifetime, and it wasnt until the 19th century that his work began to receive widespread recognition and acclaim.
