Van Gogh

Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) was a Dutch post-Impressionist painter who is widely considered one of the most famous and influential artists in the history of art. He is known for his bold, bright colors and thick brushstrokes, as well as his emotional and expressive use of light and shadow.

He produced all of his roughly 2,100 artworks, including around 860 oil paintings, in a period of only 10 years before he died at the age of 37. His most famous works include "Starry Night," "Sunflowers," and "The Potato Eaters." Despite initial critical and commercial failure, Van Gogh's work eventually became celebrated around the world and he is now widely considered one of the most important figures in the history of art.
